Mr. T, tourist in Japan

Brazil to Japan

Used in Japan

I usually use roaming when traveling because it's a pain to set up and I wanted to enjoy my trip. However, there was a data limit and I couldn't use it as I wanted, so this time I tried using an "eSIM." We both used it because it was the same roaming plan and it was easy to understand and set up even without a manual. Thank you!

Mr. S, a Japanese worker

Vietnam to Japan

Used in Japan and Vietnam

I recently returned to Japan temporarily for family reasons, so I bought this phone at a convenience store after seeing that it was "usable in both Japan and Vietnam." It was very convenient. I set it up at the airport in Japan, but when I got off the plane at the transit airport, I had signal and was able to use it right away. After using it in Vietnam, I was able to use it even when I returned to Japan. I'll be introducing it to my friends from Vietnam when they come to Japan.

I came from New York State. There were a lot of SIM and eSIM cards for sale at the airport, so I assumed they'd be available around town, so I left the airport immediately. I went to the tourist information center, but they didn't have any, so I happened to see one at a convenience store and bought one. It was cheap! I used up the 3GB plan in no time, but I can buy more, so I sometimes use it even when I'm back in NY.

Mr. M, living in Japan

America → Japan

Japan → Fiji

I wasn't sure what to buy, so I thought maybe a pocket Wi-Fi would be the answer, but when I looked for a price in Fiji for the duration of my stay, it came to several tens of thousands of yen. That's when I found an eSIM. I had never actually used one before, so I wondered if it would work, but it was easy to set up, the connection was good, and I was able to use it without any issues. I'd never heard of it, but maybe because it was an iPhone, it was built-in, which is very convenient. I'd like to use an eSIM again if I have the opportunity to travel abroad in the future.
